listen to why ante supported croatia over australia here
Ante Jukic from the Guardian says he could not justify supporting Australia against Croatia when the two nations met in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Jukic, who hosts Mundial Memories on FNR_Football Nation Radio and is of Croatian heritage, says he “supported Croatia” due to due feeling neglected as an NSL fan following the inception of the A-League.
“What the A-League meant conceptually was that people like me were second class citizens,
“The idea of those communities being self-determined was something Australian football and Australian society didn’t stand for.” Jukic said.
Mundial Memories airs every Tuesday from 7pm (AEST) hosted by Joshua Parish, Ante Jukic and Damir Kulas on FNR_Football Nation Radio.
