PFA CEO John Didulica believes the Team 11 consortium has the “holy trinity of building a football club” in their bid for an A-League licence.
The Team 11 A-League bid has proposed to build a 15,000 seat stadium in Melbourne’s South-East next to the Dandenong station as part of their bid.
Mr Didulica says it is “exciting to see the club being built in the best possible way” through engaging with community and government stakeholders.
“The team is the last piece of the puzzle, you need to build this community and government infrastructure so you can work through the key issues,” Mr Didulica said.
Mr Didulica believes a club could work in a “vibrant community” such as Dandenong due to it’s large population and passion for football.
Mr Didulica was also “excited” by the proposal to build a boutique stadium in the “heart of Dandenong.”
“If they can tick that box around stadium infrastructure, it’s almost like the team will be the easy part,
“A full stadium represents the image of what you want the game to look like.” Mr Didulica said.
