"It is the best route of action": ipswich forward ben folami says a move overseas for youth is the best move
Ipswich town forward Ben Folami believes moving overseas to pursue a football career is the “best route of action.”
Folami, now 18, has been living in England since being accepted at Ipswich town when he was 15 years old.
Folami told Chris Appleford on FNR_Football Nation Radio’s Aussies Abroad moving overseas at a young age to pursue a football career was the right decision.
“It’s just what I was advised, it was the best plan and that’s what we believe and being here now I still think it is,” Folami said.
Folami made his debut against Crystal Palace in the English League Cup last year at Selhurst Park and strives towards consolidating a spot in the first team.
“I was told to just keep doing what I’m doing and I’ll get my chance,” Folami said.
When asked about a potential move to the A-League Folami said he would be interested but after a “long and established career in England.”
Aussies Abroad airs every Tuesday from 8pm (AEDT) hosted by Chris Appleford on FNR_Football Nation Radio.
