listen to terry antonis discuss melbourne victory's resurgence
Melbourne Victory midfielder Terry Antonis believes the team’s recent resurgence has been timed perfectly heading into the latter stages of the season
The Victory have won their last four competitive matches and have replaced Melbourne City in third place on the table
“Everyone’s working really hard on and off the pitch,
“Things weren’t going our way at the time, we were doing really well but were just unlucky,” Antonis said.
Despite Antonis’s former side Sydney FC currently leading the league, the 24-year is confident the Victory will not miss the opportunity to take it to the reigning champions should the two sides meet in the finals.
“When the finals come it’s a different kind of game, it’s a one-off game and on the day anything can happen,” Antonis said.
Antonis has made 14 appearances for the Melbourne Victory after only playing a combined 24 matches during his time in Greece, Holland and at the Wanderers.
Antonis told Carlos Alberto Diego on FNR_Football Nation Radio's The Journos adapting quickly is significant for contemporary players.
“It’s my job so you have to get used to [adapting],
“For me personally I was excited to come back and play for Victory,” Antonis said.
The Journos airs daily from 8am (AEDT) hosted by Carlos Alberto Diego on FNR_Football Nation Radio
